January 2011
We brought 24 more students to the program in January 2011! In addition, we are expanding our mentoring program to provide wide ranging career guidance to our high school students to help them choose the education and career path that is right for them.
November 2010
Our first two students graduated from Secondary School. They are now waiting for their exam results to see what course of study they will follow next.
We carried out a major team building session with the students at Shelly beach and invited peer educators from the Mombasa Youth Counselling Centre to facilitate the sessions.
July 2010
We increase the number of our scholarship students to 56 in July 2010. Our mentoring sessions are taking place successfully every Saturday, educating our students to be responsible citizens.
April 2009
We started holiday tuition (tutoring) and after school classes focusing on mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics. We also hosted a flower planting activity at the Youth Empowerment Center.
January 2009
At the beginning of the 2009 school year, we increased our number of beneficiaries from 19 to 41, 10 of whom are children from TWAAYF Children's Development Center.
July 2008
We hosted our first mentoring session for our scholarship students. These now take place weekly.
January 2008
We added 12 students to our scholarship program, more than doubling the size of the program from the previous year.
January 2007
Likoni Scholarship Fund enrolled its first seven students in school.
