Secondary Student
Secondary (or high school) education is not free in Kenya, instead it costing about half of a Likoni parent's average income. As a result few of Likoni's brightest young minds are able to continue their education past age 14, helping to ensure that the cycle of poverty continues for another generation. By sponsoring a secondary student you help brake the cycle by enabling a poor, gifted student to continue his or her education. Your sponsorship provides school fees, notebooks and textbooks, uniform and shoes, boarding or transportation and lunch, weekly mentoring sessions and after school tutoring. This comprehensive approach to sponsorship helps ensure that our students make the most of secondary education and create opportunities for themselves after graduation.
Primary Student
Our primary students attend St. Kevin's Hill Academy, Likoni's best primary school. While this academy is more expensive than public school, it is not plagued by over crowding and poor student performance, as most public schools are. Our primary students, including Twaayf's children, receive a top quality education despite their economic disadvantages. By sponsoring a primary student you invest in the future of a young child, then share in the excitement of watch him or her develop into adolescence and beyond. Your sponsorship provides school fees, notebooks and textbooks, uniform, book bag, shoes, and lunch.
