Saturday February 20th, 2016 Hatua partnered with Swahili Box Ladies to host an “Intro to Web Programming & Blogging with Word Press” Boot Camp. This Boot Camp was aimed at empowering girls to use digital tools as a means for better education. We had extended the invitation to 40 girls in upper primary & high school from 8 schools throughout Likoni and were impressed to have everyone attend plus an additional 5 girls!
Everyone enjoyed the lessons on programming, internet use and how to create blogs! The girls had such a fun time attending this event and were left with wanting to learn more! We hope we can organize another event for these young and intelligent girls with Swahili Box Ladies! Thank you for this amazing opportunity and we look forward to partnering with you again!
