Let me introduce to you yet another remarkable Hatua Likoni student….

Abdallah Mohammed is 25 years old and is currently studying Business Management at the Technical University of Mombasa. Abdallah first heard of Hatua Likoni when Founders/Directors, Gabi and Kwame began looking for students who could be possible candidates for the scholarship program. As a student leader in secondary school he volunteered to help Gabi and Kwame identify students in need of scholarship assistance. From the very beginning our founders (Gabi & Kwame) could see Abdallah’s passion for putting the needs of others before his own. He has helped so many of the youth in Likoni by connecting them with our organization and he has truly made a difference in the community by doing so. For this, Hatua Likoni and many of our current beneficiaries are forever grateful.

Since Abdallah officially joined Hatua Likoni in 2009 he had dreams of owning and managing his own real estate business on Likoni’s South Coast and it’s a privilege to see that he is truly heading in the right direction owing largely to his good willed motivation and successes he has had with Hatua Likoni’s Career Mentorship Program. This program pairs our university students with local professionals working within the fields they wish to pursue after schooling. The professional mentors voluntarily work with our students to help them gain the skills, experience and networks in their specified careers of interest to make for a smoother transition into the work force. We are delighted to see that Abdallah has taken full advantage of this valuable opportunity.

Abdallah has been with his mentor, Mr. Mwenda Thuranira, CEO of MySpace Real Estate Company, for 2 years now. Abdallah and Mr. Thuranira have a great working relationship, meeting with each other on a weekly basis. After some time, Abdallah was happy to announce that he had been offered an intern position at MySpace! Further, after excelling in his internship, he was offered a job within the company!

This incredible opportunity has reaffirmed Abdallah of his passion for working within the real estate business and our belief in Hatua Likoni’s Career Mentorship Program. This is exactly what we wish to see come out of the program. We’re so proud of the accomplishments and opportunities Abdallah has made for himself and we look forward to seeing his friendly face and delightful personality during the school holidays. Way to go Abdallah! Keep up the great work!
