Hatua Students Learn about Anger Management During Sunday Mentoring Sessions

Every Sunday, Hatua students in day school attend mentoring classes. Classes cover topics such as personal decision making, career choices, and civic engagement. Through these classes, students learn how to be responsible citizens.DSCF8486

On 15th August during an interactive session, the students learned about the concept of anger management. According to their career and mentoring Coordinator, Winfred Muthina, most of the students admitted that anger had been stopping them from maximizing their potential and achieving their goals. In Likoni, it is not common to talk openly about ways to deal with anger, although it is something that affects us all.

Through a lengthy conversation, students shared their experiences and explored the reasons behind angry emotions and actions. Many students said that if they had gained this knowledge earlier, they could have solved some problems much better than they did.DSCF8485

Winfred assured them that it is never too late to be a

better person in life and to make the right decisions. She also encouraged them to help others manage their anger by teaching them the tips they learned. Sunday mentoring sessions are an ideal time to talk directly with students about important topics, particularly subjects such as anger management, that are often

overlooked in school.
